ABOUT US

Michalis Pantelidis (Nicosia, 1993) is a Cypriot Textiles Designer. He graduated from the University of the West of England in Bristol. During his studies, he interned at the atelier of Iris Van Herpen and Ronald Van Der Kemp in Amsterdam, where he gained experience in couture. He also worked with Dutch artists "Dutch Igloo", where he experimented with photography, digital editing, and intricate handwork. In 2021, he launched his own brand which combines his love for textiles, photography, and art. His first project is called “The land of Decomposition” which explores alternative ways of understanding the idea of value by turning trash into colorful and joyful scarves.

Awards Nominations:

Michalis was nominated by UWE Bristol for the "The Fashion Innovation Award" and "The Considered Fashion Award" at the Graduate Fashion Week 2022.

July 2022 - UWE Student Ventures Summer Scholarship Award.

Exhibitions:

07/2022 - Collaboration with the "Clothing X change" store in Bristol for the display of the "Reclaim Worth" Collection at the window of the store during Bristol Pride.

06/2022 - Degree Show - Uwe Bristol where he presents his collection "Reclaim Worth".

05/2022 - Participated at “Tsemperi Fashion Exhibition” in Stelios Foundation, Nicosia, Cyprus with the textile piece “Aphrodite” made out of waste pieces of lace digitally embroidered into a “new” textile.

11/2021 - Participated in “Afternoon - a social awareness project” in Strovolos Municipality Culture Center the “Land of Decomposition” - a collection of scarfs made out of personal photographic documentation of wastelands digitally printed on U-circular Chiffon made out of plastic bottles.

09/2020 - Participated at Ceveris Museum exhibition ‘Cyprus Queer Perspective’ and presented five self-portraits
